Bears, extant.

Family Ursidae. Main sources of nutrition for each species. The diet of bears that inhabit pine and deciduous forests (black and brown bears) varies along the seasons, gorging on nuts and seeds in fall, berries in spring, and foraging insects, honey and roots all time. They also have to fatten up before hibernation and hunt for easy prey. Polar bears eat only meat, prefering seal blubber. Panda bears specialize in bamboo and spend all day chewing on it, they cant afford hibernation but they can subsist on a smaller area than other bears. Sloth bears and malayan bears live off fruit and bugs. Spectacled bears are mainly herbivorous and eat a wide variety of plants, from fruits to bark and puya cores.
